Toronto Brigantine Inc. is a not-for-profit charitable organization. The continued building of character through adventure depends on donated time, money, expertise, and materials. Tall ships require a substantial amount of attention to keep in operation, and we are anxious for all the help we can get.

Membership in TBI

To become a member of TBI, you must donate a minimum of $50. As a member your are invited to the TBI Annual General Meeting, and may vote on motions raised at that meeting including the election of board members and personnel hired by the organization.  Different levels of membership are entitled to different “thank-you” gifts.  See below for details.

There are two ways to donate to Toronto Brigantine:

1. You can donate on-line immediately through Canada Help by following this link.  Donations of $50 or more confer a one year Membership in TBI.

2. Download, print off, and mail in our Membership form with a cheque or your credit card number.

Please make your cheque or money order payable to “Toronto Brigantine Inc.” and mail it to our address above. If you are paying by VISA or American Express, you can email or fax us the above forms to our address above.

There are two types of membership. Consecutive Year membership implies a commitment to remaining a contributing member for 3 to 5 years. The other is a single year membership.

Consecutive Year Membership

These members receive regular information about upcoming events, an invitation to our Annual General Meeting, our Signals Newsletter, and an invitation to a special Fall Sail.

• Subscribing Membership – $100 for 5 years or $250 for 3 years
• Sustaining Membership – $500 for 5 years; You receive an unframed colour print of Pathfinder or Playfair.
• The Main Stay – $1000 for 5 years; You receive a framed colour print of Pathfinder or Playfair.

Single Year Membership

These members receive regular information about upcoming events, an invitation to our Annual General Meeting, and our Signals Newsletter.

• Ontario Membership – $50
• Erie Membership – $100; You will receive an invitation to our members sail in the fall.
• Huron Membership – $250; You will receive an invitation to bring two of your friends or family to our members sail in the fall.

• Michigan – $500; You will receive an invitation to bring four of your friends or family to our members sail in the fall.
• Superior – $1000; You will receive an invitation to bring four of your friends or family to our members sail in the fall, and a special membership print.

Another aspect of supporting brigs is by providing the materials needed in the maintenance of the boats. This can range from everything from light bulbs and paint, sandpaper and brushes, to stainless steel water tanks and electric generators. Even if we can’t use it directly, we could sell it and use the proceeds to continue supporting our youth sail training programs. Remember that we are a registered charitable organization and we can issue tax receipts for eligible donations.
