Needed Supplies

The brigs need supplies. We always need paint, varnish, sandpaper, cleaning products, scrapers, tools – you name it. If it has a use on a steel-hauled sail boat, we probably need it. We also need some more substantial items for donation that will be listed here. Please contact our office if you think you can help.

We could also take donation of other objects that may not be of direct use on Pathfinder, Playfair, or Brig House. These items could be sold and the proceeds used to further support our sail training programs. Remember that we are a registered charitable organization and we can provide tax receipts for eligible donations.

For the winter program we have continuous need for sandpaper, paint, varnish, whipping twine, wood, brushed, etc. Place don’t hesitate to let us know if you can help. We are also short on tools.

The following is a list of substantial items that will be needed in the coming years.

• Extra fire extinguishers for Brig House.
• We always need marine varnish, paint, sandpaper, brushes, etc.
• Quarter-sawn Douglas Fir for the decks of both boats. Roughly 20% of Pathfinder’s deck and virtually all of Playfair’s deck need to be replaced. Other cuts of Douglas Fir will be needed in the future to rebuild worn out spars.
• Mahogany. Both boats need extensive work done on the taffrail and gunnel capping in addition to other on-deck wood work.
